LULAC Statement on Las Vegas Mass Shooting

October 2, 2017

Washington, DC – On Sunday, Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada, opened fire from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel, killing at least 58 people and injuring more than 500 others attending a country music festival.

In response, LULAC National President, Roger C. Rocha Jr. issued the following statement:

“Today our nation mourns the largest mass shooting in the history of the United States. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, the entire Las Vegas community, and all affected by this tragedy. We extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders who risked their lives to save numerous innocent people last night. We must do more to help stop these senseless and cowardice massacres from continuing to occur in our great nation.”
