Join LULAC for Dream Act Week of Action

December 4, 2017

Washington, DC – It’s been three months since President Trump ended the DACA program and shifted responsibility to Congress to enact DREAMer protections by March 5, 2018. After that date, over 800,000 young immigrant DREAMers will be targets for deportation as their DACA permits begin to expire.

We can’t let that happen.

This week, LULAC members from across the country will gather with other organizations in Washington, D.C. to demand that Congress protect DREAMers and pass the Dream Act of 2017. Here's how you can get involved:

  • Monday, December 4: LULAC will participate in a story-sharing marathon by reading DREAMer testimonials to highlight the importance of a clean Dream Act. Click here to follow the conversation on Facebook.
  • Wednesday, December 6: LULAC will join thousands of activists for the National Mobilization for a Clean Dream Act & Save TPS Rally and March. To join us, click here to sign up.
  • Thursday and Friday, December 7-8: LULAC will deliver our petition to congressional offices and urge them to pass a clean Dream Act. Click here to sign and share the petition.
Can’t make it to Washington, D.C? Here’s how you can participate in your community:
  • Sign and share the Dream Act petition.
  • Host a Phone Bank: If you live in a targeted district, you can bring your council together to make phone calls and even visit the district office. Click here for a list of congressional targets, make a call, and urge them to support the Dream Act of 2017.
  • Participate in an Event: LULAC has partnered with iMarch, which will be hosting online and offline events to advocate for the Dream Act. Click here to find an event.
We can’t afford to wait any longer for Congress to take action. The fate of over 800,000 DREAMers who are our family, friends, and neighbors is at stake. We must do everything possible to ensure that our community is protected and that the Dream Act of 2017 becomes a reality.
